Andrea Ciannavei
Playwright
Andrea is a writer, actor and producer in New York City. Her most recent play, 7 Captiva Road (dir. Michele Chivu) was presented during LAByrinth Theater Company’s 2008 Barn Series at The Public. She also wrote and appeared in Pretty Chin Up (dir. Michele Chivu) produced by LAByrinth Theater Company at The Public Theater in May 2007. Other short plays have been produced in Miami, Austin and New York. Andrea is the recipient of Juillard’s Lila Acheson Playwriting Fellowship 2008-2010. Lecomte du Nouy Prize Winner 2008 - 2009. She received the Grand Jury Prize - Best Supporting Actress from - New York Independent International Film and Video Festival’s for her work in Pigeonholed. Member of Women’s Project Playwrights’ LAB 2006 – 2008. Selected to participate in the Royal Court’s 2006 Playwright Residency in New York. Graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts’ Dramatic Writing Program. Proud member of LAByrinth Theater Company.
