Stories Cuentos: Raven Brings the Light, 2006

The traditional Native American story of how Raven brought light into the world is explored by thirty 5th graders, with the the guidance of Michael Wiggins and playwright Oni Faida Lampley. During two semesters of weekly workshops, the students played theater games and were offered structure and stimuli, including pictures, music and the geography and history of Hunts Point. Their writings, interviews, and improvisations were woven into short scripts.
The play premiered in 2006 in Hunts Point at The Point Live from the Edge Theater.
